Das Klima retten, aber wie? Aus der Bundesregierung gibt es eine Fürsprecherin für die Einführung einer CO2-Steuer. Umweltministerin Svenja Schulze macht bereits Pläne, bei denen untere Einkommensschichten entlastet werden sollen. Auch zur Höhe der Steuer äußert sie sich.

Das Thema Klimawandel beschäftigt die deutsche Politik - und vor allem die Suche nach geeigneten Maßnahmen, um die Ziele aus dem Pariser Klimaschutzabkommen doch noch zu erreichen. Vor allem die Debatte über einen Preis für das Treibhausgas CO2 nimmt dabei immer mehr an Fahrt auf. Auch Umweltministerin Svenja Schulze befürwortet den Vorschlag, den Ausstoß von Kohlendioxid mit einer Steuer zu belegen.

"Die Idee ist, dass CO2 einen Preis bekommt, also dass man auf Treibhausgase eine Steuer erhebt", sagte die SPD-Politikerin dem "Spiegel". Auf eine Höhe wollte sie sich nicht festlegen, zitierte aber den Chef der Wirtschaftsweisen, der als Einstieg 20 Euro pro Tonne vorschlägt. "Damit würde man beim Sprit im Bereich der normalen Schwankungen an der Zapfsäule liegen", sagte Schulze.

Ein CO2-Preis, ob als Steuer, Abgabe oder Emissionshandel, soll den Ausstoß von Treibhausgasen verteuern und damit klimafreundliche Technologien fördern. Die Bundesregierung lässt derzeit verschiedene Konzepte juristisch und auf ihre Wirkung hin von Experten prüfen. Für den Energiesektor und Teile der Industrie gibt es in der EU einen Handel mit Emissions-Zertifikaten.

Mittlere und kleine Einkommen entlasten

Schulze tritt überdies dafür ein, einen sozialen Ausgleich zu gewähren. "Wir wollen den Menschen das Geld aus den CO2-Einnahmen wieder zurückzahlen. Dadurch werden mittlere und kleine Einkommen entlastet. Die mit höheren Einkommen, großen Autos oder Häusern werden stärker belastet, weil sie sich das leisten können." Der Plan für eine CO2-Abgabe soll Schulze zufolge im Juli im Klimakabinett der Bundesregierung diskutiert werden.

You can add new collections of any type (blog, photos, forums, etc.), delete unwanted one and customize existing collections (title, sidebar, blog skin, widgets, etc.) from the admin interface.

A quick go-to dinner. Can be made with almost any meat. I often used ground. Works perfect for lettuce wraps. Try replacing the onion with thinly sliced fennel.
